NEW YEAR, NEW DAY
What’s your resolution for the new year? Do you remember your resolution from last year? How long did it take for you to forget it? How long will it take to forget the one you are about to make?
I get it. The new year brings the promise of a fresh year, and that’s appealing to us all, especially if the last year has been tough. But what’s the difference between December 31 and January 1? Seems arbitrary, doesn’t it? Why not make a resolution every month? Every week? Every day?
Why not set a goal we can remember, a goal we can accomplish, a goal from which we can easily pivot if we need to. A lot gets lost over a week, a month, and a year. Let’s start with a day.
What’s your resolution for the new day?
Do it once today, with a clean slate from yesterday.
Do it once tomorrow, with a clean slate from today.
Do it once, a lot.
