DRIFT
You’re doing great! The off-season training is paying off, and you’re feeling confident. You’re focused on the process, and the results are coming easily. The game feels like a breeze, and you’re having a blast.
But, now you want more…
It’s not enough to just get hits, especially if they’re not extra-base hits, or at a high exit velocity, or the “right” launch angle. It starts to feel like they don’t even count. So, you start swinging harder to get “real” hits, and the hard work you put in starts to unravel. You’re rushing, you can’t see the ball, and holes start opening up in your swing path.
You’ve drifted away from the work that brought you success in the first place. The most natural thing in the world is to want more, but the thought of it can start to derail you. Stay focused on your routine and stay committed to the process. Let the results come naturally.
Don’t drift away from good in the pursuit of perfection.
