The drills in this phase exist to clean up the Disconnections that cause hitters to leak the load they worked so hard to build — an inefficient stride, inconsistent hand position, an unstable lead leg, and early loss of tension through the move. If the Manual showed you why staying loaded matters, this is where you train it.
Each drill below targets a specific Connection from the Staying Loaded framework — efficient stride direction, consistent hand slot, lead-leg stability, and the ability to hold tension and adjustability all the way to the launch position. Identify the Disconnections that show up in your swing, get reps on the drills that address them, and you’ll arrive at contact with everything you loaded still intact.
Reinforces holding the loaded position through the post stride instead of leaking out of it.
Maintains lower-half tension all the way through stride landing through hip-shoulder separation.
Trains lead-leg stability on landing so the load stays intact.
Exaggerates lead-leg blocking to teach the hitter to land firm and stay loaded.
Trains the hitter to hold tension in the strap throughout the stride.
Adds a single-leg balance challenge to expose lead-leg leaks.
Forces stable landing on an unstable surface to bulletproof the front side.
Trains controlled deceleration and lead-leg blocking through stride.
Trains rotational sequencing from an open stance with feet anchored.
Reinforces direction and lead-leg blocking from a closed split-stance position.
Builds single-leg load awareness and a controlled stride direction.
Exaggerates a moving load to feel rhythm and direction into stride.
Reinforces a long, intentional stride with a strong loaded finish.
Trains stride direction across all three stance variations.
Builds rear-leg drive while controlling stride direction.
Trains a forward-directed drop into the loaded position.
Trains a rearward gather into a stable loaded position.
Reinforces front-side loading without losing rear-leg tension.
Trains a back-side load with controlled weight distribution.
Adds elevation to step-ups to train explosive rear-leg drive.
Trains stable loading and unloading from an elevated base.
Combines hook ’em mechanics with elevated platform stability.
Forces the hitter to load fully into a stacked rear leg before releasing.
