The Season Is Here. Are You Ready to Execute?
By Greg Brown | [INSERT DATE]
Spring is in the air and the games are about to count. After all those hours in the cage, all those early morning lifts, and all those reps when nobody was watching—this is what you’ve been building toward.
But let me ask you something: do you have a plan?
Not a hope. Not a feeling. A plan.
In my years as a scout, I saw countless players with all the tools in the world show up to game one with zero idea how to attack a pitcher. They’d dig in, react to whatever was thrown, and wonder why they went 0-for-3. Meanwhile, the guy with half the talent but twice the preparation was finding ways to get on base.
The difference? Process.
Preparation Is a Competitive Advantage
The best players I’ve ever evaluated didn’t just trust their talent—they trusted their preparation. They knew what pitches they could drive. They understood what pitchers wanted to do to them. They had a plan for every count, every situation, every at-bat.
That’s not luck. That’s work.
This is why we put together the Gameplanning Manual at Florida Baseball Ranch. I wish this resource existed when I was playing. I wish every kid I scouted had something like this in their bag.
It’s a simple system that helps you prepare like a pro. Pitcher tendencies. Count strategies. Situational approaches. All laid out so when you step in the box, you’re not guessing—you’re hunting.
Trust What You Built
Here’s what I need you to understand: the work is already done. You’ve put in the time. You’ve built the swing, developed the approach, and sharpened your skills.
Now is not the time to overthink. Now is the time to trust.
Trust your hands. Trust your eyes. Trust the process that got you here.
The players who succeed at the highest levels aren’t the ones searching for answers in March. They’re the ones who show up with answers already in hand—and the confidence to execute them.
Go Compete
So as you head into this season, here’s my challenge: don’t just show up and hope for the best. Show up prepared. Show up with a plan. Show up ready to execute.
The games are here. The preparation phase is over.
Now it’s time to go prove what you’re made of.
See you on the diamond.
