PILLAR 01
Swing Development

Build a Better Swing

Balance, set-up, separation, and sequencing — the mechanics of a fluid, repeatable, explosive swing.

Balance
We focus on achieving dynamic balance throughout the swing to ensure stability, efficiency, and power transfer. Athletes learn how to maintain a strong athletic position while adapting to different pitch types and locations.
Set-Up
Proper setup is the foundation of a powerful swing. We customize stance, hand position, and posture to fit the individual athlete’s body type and strengths for optimal mechanics and repeatability.
Separation
Developing effective separation between the upper and lower body during the loading phase is crucial for generating torque and bat speed. Our drills are designed to enhance this critical movement pattern.
Sequencing
Learn how to properly coordinate body movements — from the ground up — for a fluid and explosive swing. Good sequencing maximizes energy transfer and leads to more consistent results.
Video Analysis
We utilize high-speed video breakdowns to give hitters immediate feedback. Our coaches identify swing flaws, highlight strengths, and provide side-by-side comparisons with elite hitters to guide mechanical improvements.
PILLAR 02
Consistent Contact

Become a More Consistent Hitter

Barrel control, strike-zone discipline, and vision — making quality contact regardless of pitch speed or movement.

Contact Development
Our training emphasizes barrel control and consistency in hitting the ball flush, regardless of pitch speed or movement. Athletes are guided through targeted drills to improve bat-to-ball skills.
Strike Zone Awareness
Hitters learn how to identify and attack pitches in their optimal hitting zone. By understanding the strike zone better, athletes reduce chasing and improve their ability to make quality contact.
Vision Training
We incorporate visual tracking drills and pitch recognition training to help athletes pick up spin, speed, and location earlier — crucial for making confident swing decisions.
PILLAR 03
More Power

Hit Balls Harder, More Consistently

Bat speed, ground force, and variability — the engine behind higher exit velocity and offensive impact.

Bat Speed Enhancement Program
Using overload/underload training and biomechanical optimization, we help athletes develop faster, more explosive swings, increasing exit velocity and offensive potential.
Creating Ground Force to Generate More Power
Through specialized movement training, hitters learn to leverage the ground effectively. Developing force from the lower body leads to more powerful and efficient swings.
Variability Training
We use variable pitch speeds, angles, and movement patterns to simulate game-like conditions. This helps athletes adapt their swing in real time and perform better under pressure.
Utilization of Training Tools
Our hitters have access to cutting-edge tools such as weighted bats, sensor-based systems, and resistance bands to enhance strength, speed, and swing consistency.
PILLAR 04
Smarter Approach

Enhance Your Approach

Swing decisions, disciplined aggression, and reading pitchers — knowing when to swing is as important as how.

Swing Decisions
We train hitters to recognize pitch types early and make faster, more accurate decisions about whether to swing, helping them avoid chasing and maximize quality contact.
Not All Strikes Are Created Equal
Athletes are taught to differentiate between “good” and “bad” strikes, emphasizing disciplined aggression. Knowing when to swing is just as important as how you swing.
Understanding Strengths
We help players identify their hitting profile — power, contact, opposite-field tendencies — and build an approach that plays to their natural strengths.
Hitting Your Pitches & Zones
Rather than simply reacting to pitches, athletes learn to hunt specific zones and pitches they’re most likely to succeed against, leading to smarter, more productive at-bats.
Understanding Pitcher Types
Athletes are educated on various pitcher profiles (velocity, off-speed dominant, sidearm, etc.) and how to adjust their approach based on tendencies and pitch sequencing.
Data-Driven Development

Utilization of Technology

Blast, FlightScope, motion capture, and performance data — measurable feedback that makes every rep count.

Technical Analysis
Utilizing Technology to Enhance Development
We teach athletes how to interpret and apply data from advanced hitting technologies, making their training more targeted and effective.
Blast Analysis
Using Blast Motion sensors, we break down swing metrics like bat speed, attack angle, and time to contact to provide measurable feedback and track progress.
FlightScope & Ball Flight Analysis
This radar-based technology gives real-time feedback on launch angle, exit velocity, spin rate, and distance — providing a complete picture of contact quality.
Movement Analysis
With motion capture and video analysis, we break down kinematic sequences and joint angles to ensure efficient movement patterns throughout the swing.
Ground Force Rate of Production
We analyze how quickly and effectively an athlete can produce force against the ground — an essential component of explosiveness and swing efficiency.
Video Analysis & Player Comparisons
In-depth video reviews with pro comparisons allow athletes to visually understand mechanical differences and track their development over time.
Using Data & Performance Indicators
What Statistics Teach Us
Athletes are guided through key performance indicators such as OBP, hard-hit rate, and chase rate to better understand what drives offensive success.
Utilizing Information In-Game
We equip players with tools to adjust their strategy mid-game using in-game stats, tendencies, and real-time feedback for smarter at-bats.
What MLB Organizations Focus On
Our training reflects what professional scouts and MLB teams look for: exit velocity, launch angles, swing decisions, and plate discipline. Athletes learn how to build profiles that translate to the next level.
Mindset & Philosophy

Become the Best Version of Yourself

The mental side of hitting — and the training philosophy that accelerates every athlete’s development.

Mental Approach
  • Understanding you — the individual athlete.
  • Performing under pressure.
  • Understanding game state.
  • The mindset of winning ballplayers.
At the Florida Baseball Ranch®…
  • Paradigms matter. An incorrect or incomplete paradigm can bring growth and development to a screeching halt while the right one can accelerate the learning tenfold.
  • The hyper-personalization of programming is far superior to the standard one-size-fits-all program.
  • When it comes to motor skills like catching, the Bernstein Principle, the central nervous system, and motor learning RULE.
  • Assessments and awareness are key. Knowing exactly where you are now is absolutely invaluable in designing the right path forward.

Testimonials

Dylan Bowen

“Attending the DuraHit™ boot camp last winter as I entered my freshman season at Francis Marion University not only refined my approach at the plate as a hitter but also focused on fine-tuning the use of my hips in my swing, which ultimately led to a noticeable increase in my power. Coach Brown & Rodriguez’s expertise and guidance were invaluable throughout the process. I left the boot camp feeling more confident in my abilities and gained valuable insights and knowledge that I can carry throughout my baseball journey. The DuraHit™ boot camp with Coach Greg Brown and Coach Eddy Rodriguez exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to any aspiring baseball player looking to elevate their game.”

Seamus Moylan

“Lucky is truly an understatement when it comes to my son finding Greg Brown as a hitting coach. From the moment we met Greg, the knowledge he has shared with my son has immensely improved his hitting, baseball knowledge, and love for the game. Greg goes above and beyond to help my son become the best hitter. When my son is working on BP or live hitting, he is able to send video to Greg and receive detailed feedback with drills he can work on that focus directly on my son’s success. Greg not only helps my son understand the game of baseball, but he cares about him and his goals. You can’t get any better than Greg Brown.”
